The regular Praying Service for DhammaCakraTra LA has been arranged on February 14, 2009. The service started on 09:30 AM.

In a cloudy day, 33 attendance came to the occasion, chanted, and listened to the Dhamma talk titled "Wisdom". In his determined yet calm voice, Ven. Sunim explained the Buddha's statement that says about Dhamma that can only be understood by wise men.

Being a wise man means understanding that life is full of suffering. Understanding the basic problem of suffering, knowing that there is a solution to end the suffering and practicing the eight-fold path in daily lives as a mean to solve the suffering is a starting point of becoming a wise man.

In summary, when the Buddha said that his teaching can only be meant for the wise men, it does not mean that only the holy individual, monks and celestial beings can ripe the benefits of His teaching. It means that each being, including human, have to understand the true form of life and its constant changing from moment to moment so that the wisdom gained from it along with the possession of intelligence (analytic power) can help someone toward liberation from all suffering.
